Way too many agendas sometimes. Strip it down to the basics.
An intended nod to our opening article this Issue, we address a topic that is a perfect example of the 144 everyone-together decision-making discussion.
The question should be, what is the best option that will come close to making everyone happy?
Instead, too often this topic gets commandeered for a different PURPOSE. It becomes a line item where overspending elsewhere can be mitigated. Or, it is often grabbed by someone involved who's "Got-A-Guy". Or, it can be defaulted into a "golfer item gift" just because it is a golf tournament. Or, it becomes a hot topic because it can never represent all personality types and expectation levels. So it morphs into a political debate and gets defaulted to being a very safe, often vanilla, solution where no one is offended or upset - and no one is happy either.
I highlighted the word "purpose" above because we've seen many times that gifting decisions are made without any consideration to the PURPOSE of the giving of the gift in the first place. We discovered a long time ago that there is a Process to finding the Purpose.
The Process of Purpose
We have a truly fun Process for you. it's just a conversation, but it strips back distractions and always delivers some clarity. To no surprise, the older the tournament, the more useful this Process is. I'll walk you through a simple X/Y graph model to reveal the direction you want to take in 2025.
Our Golfer Gifting Index Process is a treat and it only takes about 5 minutes to strip away the distractions and get pointed in the proper direction. AND, it will give you some hard facts to bring to the next committee meeting.
Let's book a time to find your Gifting Purpose for 2025.
