How the President's Choice Children's Charity Golf Classic Comes Together to Help Kids Go Far, Not Hungry.

Updated: Nov 6

Anticipation hung thick in the air as the sun peeked over the horizon at Angus Glen. It was 7:00 AM, and the 23rd Annual President’s Choice Children’s Charity Golf Classic was officially underway!

The first tee shots of the day echoed across the course, marking the start of something truly special – a day of 4 rounds of golf across 36 holes, 500 enthusiastic participants, and a shared mission to help kids go far, not hungry.

Behind the scenes, a dedicated team watched with quiet satisfaction. Months of meticulous planning, countless meetings, and tireless preparation had culminated on this day.

"It's all about teamwork and trust," shared Shantelle Hemphill, Senior Manager, Marketing and Fundraising for President’s Choice Children’s Charity, her voice brimming with pride. "We have so many moving parts – from volunteer coordination and on-course logistics to sponsor activations and guest experiences. It's like orchestrating a symphony across 300 acres!"

Shantelle emphasized the importance of surrounding herself with a capable team and reliable partners like CGT Events. "Knowing that CGT is handling the intricate details of on-course sponsorship signage and pin flags across 36 holes allows me to focus on the bigger picture," she explained. "They have a real knack for handling the unique ins and outs of a golf tournament, which is so important."

And what a picture it was! The day served over 1,000 meals with countless smiles and an incredible $2 million raised to feed students at school across Canada.

The President’s Choice Children’s Charity Golf Classic was not just a tournament; it was a testament to the power of collaboration, dedication, and a shared passion for making a difference. As the final putts dropped and the sun began to set, one thing was clear, another truly extraordinary successful day had been shared by all.
